Nothing Says Progress Like,
a Paper Straw in a Plastic Cup
So there I was, minding my own business trying to get a quick lunch at a fast-food drive-thru, and I ended up getting way more than I bargained for. Look, I am all about being green and saving the planet, but if we are going to commit to the bit, we have to go all the way. I sat down, unwrapped my meal, and reached for the straw, only to realize it was one of those dreaded paper straws. It’s definitely not my favorite texture, but I figured it’s fine—I’ll just drink fast before the cardboard completely dissolves into a structural nightmare.
Then I got the actual drink, and the true genius of modern corporate logic revealed itself. My tragic, disintegrating paper straw was floating inside a massive, heavy-duty, indestructible PLASTIC CUP. I just sat there staring at it. I guess that’s what we are calling eco-friendly-ish these days? It is the exact kind of zero-common-sense contradiction that makes your face do all the talking for you because words completely fail.
You seriously can't make this stuff up. This peak-human moment of drive-thru confusion is the exact inspiration behind our new design.
